Darlington Health Club member takes on one of the UK's most iconic cycling challenges

Dave Woods, a member of our Darlington Health Club, is taking on one of the UK’s most iconic cycling challenges to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Society.

He is taking on the tremendous challenge to raise funds for the charity, which is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day a cure is found, the
society aims to ensure those living with dementia are supported, and able to continue to live within their community for as long as possible.

‘The Ride Across Britain’ takes in 980 miles of the UK’s most scenic parts of the country across 9 days. Traveling from Lands’ End to John O’Groats he will cover
approximately 100 miles per day and climb a total of 52,200 feet. His journey will be traveling through locations such as The Cheddar Gorge, climbing Shap Fell, the
Grampian mountains, and conquering Glenshee and the Lecht ski hill to name but a few. Dave is being supported in his training and nutrition by his wife Sara, who is also
a personal trainer at the Darlington Health Club. Sara said: “While I can help with the training and support, it is Dave who is going to have to get back in the saddle, day
after day to complete the challenge.” If you would like to support Dave and Sara for their epic challenge, to help them raise as much money as possible for the charity,
