Braintree member climbs to great heights for charity

One of our Braintree members has climbed Scafell Pike, raising money for Cancer Research UK.
Gary Bentley, from Rayne, challenged himself by walking up Scafell Pike. He took on the challenge in support for Cancer Research UK, and also managed to complete 30 press ups at every mile mark, completing 270 press ups in total.
Gary who is hoping to raise £1000, has already raised £615 for the charity which is very close to his heart.
Gary said: I lost my sister to cancer in February 2022 and so I wanted to raise the money for Cancer Research UK. I am walking up mountains a lot and have done
Scafell Pike twice hence the press ups to make it more challenging”
Ricki Plumb, General Manger said: “Gary has worked extremely hard to improve his fitness, so he deserves to be proud of his achievement.
“We wish Gary all the best on reaching his fundraising goal of £1000.”
Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading independent cancer research organisation. Its extensive research covers all cancers, developing new treatments
and drugs, helping people to survive.
